Join us for the 2025 Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling season! All wrestlers, ages 8-18 are welcome. Younger wrestlers should have at least 3 years experience and a similar-size partner first.
Practice schedule March 25 – May 22:
- Tuesdays 5:30-7:00 at ALHS
- Wednesdays 5:30-7:00 at ALHS
- Thursdays 6:00-7:30 at Elyria High School (optional)
Cost is $175. USA Wrestling (full athlete) membership is required.
The most complete wrestlers take advantage of every opportunity to develop and learn. One way young wrestlers can do that is by participating in and practicing the Olympic styles of wrestling—freestyle and Greco-Roman. The top programs all teach Freestyle and Greco-Roman and we’re excited to offer it now in Avon Lake.
ALHS Head Wrestling Coach, Scott Sedlick will be teaching the different rules and moves of the Olympic styles starting March 25. Practices will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays at ALHS. We’ve also been invited to join Elyria for their Thursday practices at Elyria High School.
There are optional qualifying tournaments and a state tournament in May. Even if your wrestler doesn’t compete in a tournament, just learning some of the moves will be beneficial.
Freestyle Singlets
Special order! The Avon Lake Wrestling Club has partnered with Reshot to offer Red and Blue freestyle singlet sets, which meet the requirements to compete in USA Wrestling events. Available to Avon Lake wrestlers of all ages in men’s and women’s cuts. For sale at cost, which is $60.00 per set.
Since this is a custom order, there will be no refunds or exchanges. ALWC makes no guarantees about Reshot Sportswear’s sizing, so choose your size carefully. We plan for them to be delivered prior to the first competition, but we cannot guarantee it. Red and blue singlets are only available as a set and not individually.
